James Lawrence was an avid hunter and fisherman until severe on-going pain in both knees got in the way. Over the last eight years, the pain progressively got worse and thus greatly diminished his ability to do the things he loved. When he did go hunting, he had to make modifications in order to deal with the pain such as walking shorter distances, and parking closer to his destination.
Eventually, the pain got so intense that James was not active at all. He would only go to work and straight home due to his pain. He missed his hobbies and family events.
On June 12, 2012, James had a bilateral knee replacement and within a few days, was admitted to HealthSouth for a short rehab stay. Soon after, he experienced less pain than he had for nearly a decade.
His main goal was to be able to return home and resume the activities he loved. Spending time with friends, family, hunting and fishing were all areas that suffered due to his continuous pain.
While in rehab, the therapists and nurses all made James’s stay a great overall experience. Only a few weeks post-surgery, his pain is minimal and he is getting stronger with each passing day.
“HealthSouth was DEFINITELY the best choice for me! I absolutely would recommend them to my friends and family and already have. I have also talked to other people who are having knee replacements soon and have told them that HealthSouth is the place to go for their rehab!”
